Scottsdale, AZ is a gorgeous desert city just east of the state capital of Phoenix. A historic, scenic, and bustling little town with a population of just over 250K, Scottsdale is teeming with both nature and cityscapes for everything from outdoor recreation to arts to dining and culture. From the downtown historic 1920’s buildings to the Sonoran Desert luxury golf resorts and spas, everything from nightlife to wildlife is within a short drive in or around the city.
The weather is almost as hot as the nightlife in Scottsdale. Earning the slogan “The West’s Most Western Town” from its incredible desert views and rich ranching history, Scottsdale offers an interesting combination of cosmopolitan luxury and cowboy culture. Extending from Scottsdale, every kind of tourist pleasure can be found from hot air ballooning to horseback riding, to rock-climbing and off-road adventures both on foot and on wheels.
While many American cities can overwhelm with their size, scale, and grandeur, Scottsdale alternatively feels quite comfortable with its slower pace and local charm. It is well laid out, easily walkable, and is much less populated than its sister cities, but with enough culture and vibrancy featuring exotic restaurants and upscale shopping that one would expect from a historic city of its size. From the glowing pink sunsets to the red desert clay to the mountains surrounding the area, be prepared for a feast of the senses when you travel to visit one of the most beautiful areas in the United States.
